The hardest and longest kilometers in Zittau Mountains Nature Park
This trail is not for the faint-hearted. XTERRA O-SEE Ultra Trail is the ultimate challenge — a true adventure and an unforgettable experience for runners drawn to wild nature and demanding terrain. Set in the smallest of Germany’s low mountain ranges, it is a must-visit event on the XTERRA Trail Run calendar.
In 2026, XTERRA O-SEE Ultra Trail will also host the XTERRA European Trail Run Championship, contested exclusively over the 25 km and 50 km distances. These championship races will award the top finishers in all age-group categories and offer qualification slots to the 2027 XTERRA Trail Run World Championship, adding an extra layer of meaning and opportunity to every step of the course.
The race is set within the Zittau Mountains Nature Park, at the unique tripoint of Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, where technical trails meet dramatic scenery. Steep ascents along sloping sandstone walls reward runners with breathtaking views and unforgettable moments. Start and finish are located in the scenic village of Oybin, nestled at the foot of the mountain of the same name. The ruins of a medieval monastery and the region’s striking sandstone formations create a wild, romantic atmosphere. One of the most iconic climbing spots in the Zittau Mountains, the Kelchstein, even graces the event medals — a lasting symbol of the challenge conquered.
A running event for ambitious athletes, passionate casual runners and for the whole family. The longest run is 100 kilometers, but there are also stunning trails for beginners and plenty of short distances for kids.
